6 month hiatus

Peeps,

I'm back from almost a 6 months blog hiatus. I hope that everyone had a great and safe Thanksgiving! 2009 is coming to a close and I just have to say "what a ride" to say the least. It's not over quite yet, we still have a little time left to add on to our memory scrapbook.

Team Big Red Balls finished up our Fall season a few weeks back. Look past our win/loss record and all would agree we had a tremendous season. This was also the 1st season Blaine and I took over the reigns as team captains. Kat and Jacob were the team MVP's. It was a close selection, the entire team played great the entire season. WAKA once again provided wonderful party's, new friendships were forged, and friendships already in place grew stronger. I can't wait for the spring season! Team name and color will be changing, though nothing has been decided.

Our annual White Elephant Party is right around the corner. It's going to be a blasty blast! There is no doubt in my mind some of the gifts this year will be outrageous. Pictures and updates will follow soon! :)

Okie doke, this was a brief blog update. I will TRY to update my blog again before 2009 concludes. I hope that everyone has a fantastical December!!!!! Below are some more random videos for your viewing pleasure.

Finally it's blog time.....

Peeps,

Ok, I know it's been a while since my previous post so forgive me. It has been a roller coaster ride the last few months. The good, the bad, and the indifferent. Life has thrown my way so many adventures and I embrace them all. So this will sorta of a long blog to make up for lost times.

I was part of my very close friend's wedding in the Bahamas, which I was honored to be a part of. Orren and Alana are perfect for each other. I had a tremendous time on the cruise! I wish them nothing but happiness.

I was able to see off another friend at her going party before she left for a 6 month trip to Bali and southeast Asia (on her own). I wish I had a quarter of her spirit! I'm sure it will be a trip of a lifetime. Anna, soak it all up girl!

I was convinced to join a kickball league here in Atlanta. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about playing a child's game at first. Boy was I glad I joined, it has been a blasty blast. I forgot what it felt like to be a kid and how good it felt. I've met a lot of great personalities and forged new friendships. Summer League is around the corner, if you are at all curious I encourage you to stop by and check us out. We play at Piedmont Park on Wednesday's. Just drop me an email and I can give you all the details.

Work has been rocky but there is not doubt I will weather past the storm. I come to work everyday with a positive attitude, and everything else is secondary. I'm confident in my skills (including nun-chuck skills), and in my profession that goes a long way. Enough about work, let's continue shall we.

I went dinner with someone that was absolutely amazing a few weeks back. It was the nicest evening in recent memory for me. The food was good, the conversation was great, and she even laughed at my lame jokes (bonus). Just from the few hours that night she had me fully enamored without even trying. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to get to know more about her. :)

Mine and Blaine's friendship continues to grow after all these years. There aren't enough positive things I can say about this guy. Anyone that's met him will agree. I love him like a brother. I also wish nothing but happiness and success to Blaine and Cristy!!!

The family is good, mom, pops, and little bro. It's a little strange to call him little brother when he is 28. :) I'm proud of him no matter what. Mom and dad, you are my heroes. Love you all!

To close it out I hope 2009 thus far has been stupendous. I promise to not go so long between blogs again!

Cheers,

G

Kicked in Kickball

Peeps,

The last two weeks have not been kind to team Big Red Balls. After an auspicious start we haven’t been able to duplicate the magic from game one. Pardon the cliché but we got taken out to the woodshed last night and lost by the score of 7-1. I believe we have a good team; we just need to come together a little more cohesively. Next week we have a double header in which we need to win at least one if not both games to say in contention for 1st place. Next week we will have individual entrance music to mentally intimidate our opponents. I will also return to wearing my black soccer socks, time to go Rogue.

If you want to come out and check us out we play Thursday nights at Candler Park. Game time this upcoming week (April 23rd) will be 6:30 and 7:30.

Cheers,

G

2nd annual St. Patty's Poker Tournament

All,

Blaine hosted the 2nd annual St. Patty's Day Poker Tournament.  Even though we had a lot of cancellations the turnout was still very good.  Everyone had a blasty blast.  Great food, plenty of drinks, and great friends.  This years winners were Cristy Pruitt (3rd place), Mark Ebaugh (2nd place), and the big winner was Sarah Davis (1st place).  Sarah played with fearless aggression, and with lady luck on her side she was a juggernaut all day.  As for myself let's just say I drank quite a bit to forget the way I played.  :-)

Cheers,

G

As expected here are some more music vids for your entertainment.

Big Red Balls

All,

We had our 1st kickball game last night and it was awesome if I say so myself. We had some team injuries but nothing too serious.....or at least nothing ice and beer couldn't cure. :-) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention WE WON!!!!

If anyone is interested in checking us out we play at Candler Park on Thursdays. Games begin at either 6:30, or 7:15. We will usually head over to Front Page News for post game refreshments.

Here are some more random music vids for your entertainment.

Finally a new post.....

All,

Sorry is has taken so long for me update my Awesome blog. I kinda got spaced out and couldn't find my way back. This is going to be a short blog but I promise to get another out very soon.

It's sad to say that I have given in to the addiction that is plaguing todays society.....yes I a Facebook account. I fought valiantly to stay away but I couldn't ignore the bright lights of Facebook.

Well I have to run to a meeting where I will sit there pretending I really care about the subject matter.

Be back in a few.

Pineapple Express - so nice you have to see it twice

Peeps,

Here is my review of Pineapple Express starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. One thing is for certain, you will either thinks it's fantastical or you'll hate it.

Lazy court-process clerk and stoner Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) has only one reason to visit his equally lazy dealer Saul Silver (James Franco): to purchase weed. Saul introduces Dale to a new comer to the weed market called Pineapple Express. But when Dale becomes the only witness to a murder by a crooked cop and the city's most dangerous drug lord, he panics and dumps his roach of Pineapple Express at the scene. Dale now has another reason to visit Saul: to find out if the weed is so rare that it can be traced back to him--and it is. All aboard the Pineapple Express.

Trust me when I say that outrageous and hilarious shenanigans ensue at break neck speed. Rogen and Franco steal every scene, but not to take anything way from Danny McBride who portrays Red (Saul's supplier) who is genius in his own right in the movie. The dialogue in Pineapple Express is the sharpest of all the Apatow movies to date. Everytime you watch the movie (and you will watch it more than once), you pick up on something new you missed before (one liners heaven).

You don't have to be a stoner to like this movie, you just need a quick and open mind. Superbad is still tops in my book in the Apatow series but Pineapple Express comes in a close second. I give this movie 4 awesome stars. *reviewed on a 1 - 4 star scale*

Cheers,

2009 Top 10 New Years Resolutions

Hi everyone! I've procrastinated slightly in writing down this years resolutions, but like they say it's better late than never. So without further delay here are my top 10 New Years Resolutions (in no particular order).

1. Lose 15 lbs. by April and maintain that weight (give or take 5lbs.) throughout the year.
2. Have more patience with people.
3. Tolerate GDOT 11 more short months to get vested (10 years woohoo).
4. Look for another Network Engineering position in the private sector after getting vested!
5. Slow down and enjoy the little things everyday.
6. Be a better son, and brother.
7. Be a better boyfriend.
8. Be a better friend to those who I already consider family (you know who you are).
9. Work on my golf game.
10. Take a trip somewhere I've never been.

I know, I know the list is nothing spectacular but for once I thought I'd set realistic resolutions. With the exception of my golf game I'm confident I can accomplish 90% of the list. In addition to my resolutions I'm also leaving my peeps with 3 music videos. These songs put me in a good mood, I hope they do the same for yoos!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!!

1. The Submarines - You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie

2. Weezer - Island in the Sun

3. Jack Johnson - If I had eyes
